Overwhelming interest in the first ever beauty contest for women who had plastic surgery MISS PLASTIC HUNGARY 2009 –Beauty and harmony

Although it is still at the preparation stage, there is a worldwide media interest in the globe’s first ever beauty contest for women who had plastic surgery. The idea was presented by Hungarians, and the first contest will be held in Budapest, Hungary accordingly.

Hundreds of women have registered so far to compete for the crown and the luxurious prizes. Any women who had beauty operation done on their bodies can enter Miss Plastic Hungary 2009, the most interesting unconventional beauty contest of this fall.

The organizers had a preliminary concern about the event for plastic surgery as a beauty operation in this country is still not a widely welcomed intervention. However, the first ever “plastic” beauty contest will be held in Hungary.

“In only a few weeks’ time 20.000 people have visited our website and played with the thought of registering. While other parts of the Western world take plastic surgery as an everyday treatment, Hungarians are still prejudiced against it. These prejudices prevent many women from entering the contest” – said István Venyige, owner of Miss Plastic Hungary Ltd.

The news of the contest has turned the world’s attention to Hungary. Several international TV- and radio stations as well as newspapers, magazines have signaled their interest to make articles and bits about the event. There were some who would even like to present the contest as a separate show.

“While in the international media it is Sharon Stone or Halle Berry who are used as illustration for the article on the contest, most of the Hungarian media still puts pictures of ridiculously overdone bodies next to the reports. We certainly hope that the event can change the stereotypes and plastic surgery will be an accepted form of beauty. And as organizers, we are doing our best to make Miss Plastic Hungary 2009 a high-standard event that can be followed via internet from all over the world – added Venyige.

When someone in this country is asked to say an opinion on plastic surgery, he or she would first think of overblown lips and pumped breasts. Therefore, it is highly important to have this contest here in Hungary to overcome the stereotypes and show the people here that plastic surgery can be tasteful, beautiful and helpful when nature can’t be of help any more. The operations make a dream come true for most patients who thereby overcome their old inhibitions.

The 50 semifinalists and the 25 finalists thereafter will be selected by a professional jury. The chosen women will be competing in the final on October 9th, 2009 at Studio Club. The hungry eyes of men and the ever critical eyes of women can follow the event live online.
